One quick look at the traffic pattern of the post about Trojan Horse removal on my Dutch blog tells me there is an outbreak of a nasty special 09-09-09 computer virus.
What is interesting is that no technology online publication has been talking about the outbreak in light of the special date today.
According to Mcafee, there is an increase in the number of infected computers per million citizens in The Netherlands in the last 24 hours.
Google is not showing any keywords related to an outbreak in their daily trending keywords.
September 9th is a special date for a lot of reasons. It looks perfect from a marketing perspective, but it also represents the last set of repeating, single-digit dates that the world will see until January 1st 2101.
I guess some hacker thought it would be fun to unleash a Trojan Horse on the 9th of September 2009, which hit The Netherlands pretty big!
